This Shipwreck Timber Recording Workshop is an informal workshop which will allow participants to learn and play an active role in the detailed measurement, analysis, and scale drawing of a section of keel broken from the “Blowhole Wreck,” believed to date to no later than the second quarter of the 19th century. Click here and here to read about the recovery of this artifact from the beach at Anastasia Island State Park back in May 2008. Students in the Flagler College Archaeology Club are invited to participate in this workshop where they will learn the basics of historic ship construction and shipwreck recording. Immediately after the workshop we will stage a social for the Club, with a guided tour of the Lighthouse, Museum, and LAMP facilities and BBQ.
