Celebrate Florida Lighthouse Day, April 24
Fri, Apr 16 2010 On April 24, the First Light Maritime Society and St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum invite you to celebrate maritime history on Florida Lighthouse Day.
The museum always offers half-price admission to St. Johns County residents who can provide proof they live in the county.
Those who wish to enjoy the holiday at the museum can see the maritime education department’s program, “Shine Out Your Light,” from 11am – 1pm.
The seaworthy program features songs and stories of lighthouses, mariners, mermaids and more! Sing along to the tune of the banjo, fiddle, guitar, penny whistle, and drum while Chris Kastle and Matt Armstrong help you sail your ship through song into the nation's oldest port.
For more information on educational programs at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum visit www.staugustinelighthouse.org, and to find out more about maritime heritage call the First Light Maritime Society at (904) 829-0745.
